El Monte CA Real Estate

Established on November 18, 1912, the city of El Monte was first home to immigrant pioneers and prospectors seeking to discover California’s gold. The city’s name directly translates to “The Mountains,” which is an interesting fact considering that the city is not located in the mountains but rather in the San Gabriel Valley. The city’s 10 square mile area (approximately) of land has been established as 58% residential, 10% Industrial, 11% retail, 07% office/retail, and 14% for various ammenities. Consequently, El Monte continues to thrive attracting new businesses and welcoming new families into the community.

El Monte Demographics 

Today, this urban community has a population of close to 110,000 residents with the median age of 38 years. It is located approximately 12 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in Los Angeles County, California. This ethnically diverse and friendly city is the ninth largest, of the eighty-eight cities, found in Los Angeles County. El Monte residents belong to various racial and ethnic groups. Hispanics account for the largest sgroup accounting for 72% of the population, followed by 18% Asian and 7% White residents.

El Monte Education

The US Census Bureau rerported that 61.7% of the population in El Monte, age 25 years or older received a High School Deploma or Higher Degree between 2016-2020. In addition, 13.4% of residents 25 years or older, during the same time frame, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Degree. School Districts in El Monte: El Monte City school district, El Monte Union High School District and Mountain View Elementaty School District.

As many come to El Monte, the City works diligently to implement a variety of comprehensive and strategic programs focused on promoting positive economic and community development. Many public improvement projects are underway including upgrading existing facilities, as well as the completion of new construction to better serve the growing population. For example, in the Tyler Avenue Heritage District one can find the newly completed Aquatic Center (with three swimming pools), the Jack Crippen Multipurpose Senior Center, El Monte Historiacal Museum, and the El Monte Public Library. New public park facilities are being constructed as well as money spent to rehabilitate and expand existing parks within the City. This important endeavors as it benefits both residents and visitors alike. It provides healthy recreational opportunities, various sports/youth programs and a safe place to be active, congregate, or simply relax and commune with nature. In addition to these projects improving the aesthetic appeal of the City they promote healthy living which in turn encourages continued economic growth.

El Monte Public Transportation

Travel is made easy in El Monte as the city lies adjacent to several main expressways. There is easy access to the Interstate 10, Interstate 605, as well as the Pomona Freeway (60) Feeway. These thoroughfares facilitate travel throughout not only the San Gabriel Valley, but also the Pomona Valley, the Los Angeles area, and a vast array of other cities and sites.

El Monte is a leader in providing quality public transportation for its residents. This steadfast commitment shows in the multiple means of travel which are available in this bustling community.
